Mrs Meta Kalshoven - President
Meta has a long association with the Society. She lives in Amsterdam, in The Netherlands and currently has2 cats - both Exotics. She has never bred or shown cats, but travels to the UK every year to attend the Society's show, often stewarding, and more recently judging the Household Pet classes. Meta is a strong suppporter of the welfare work of the Society.
Mr Eric Wickham-Ruffle - Vice President
Eric has been involved in many aspects of the UK Cat Fancy, a breeder of Chinchillas under his "Silvermist" prefix, a very well respected Judge - the only UK Judge to be an Honorary All Breed Judge for FIFe. Eric has now retired from judging, but takes a keen interest in the Society and its breeds.
Mrs Marion Goff - Vice President
Marion was a committee member of the Society for many years,and also acted as its Treasurer, successfully boosting the assets of the Society by judicial investment. Marion was also Show Manager for several years. Marion bred Chinchillas and Goldens in a small way; her most famous cat was UK Gr Pr Lucianne Silver Chanteur aka "Puff", many times a Best in Show winner, including at the Society's show.
Mrs Jo Clements - Chairman & Welfare Officer
Jo lives in a village near Devizes in Wiltshire with her husband, John, and has retired from teaching. Jo used to breed Persians and Birmans, but now shows Persian and Exotic SH neuters, and regularly stewards at shows. She acts as the Society's Welfare Officer, and this involves caring for the cats in the rescue cattery, vet visits, home checking and re-homing - a full time job! Jo also keeps guinea pigs and tortoises.
Mrs Rosemary Fisher - Hon. Secretary
Rosemary also lives in a village near Devizes, Wiltshire with her partner, Geoff. She has now retired from The National Trust where she worked in Fundraising, and is interested in conservation and heritage. Rosemary breeds and shows Chinchillas and Exotics SHs under her "Owletts" prefix, and is a Judge of Persians, Semi LHs, Foreign SHs and British SHs. Rosemary also owns a Boxer dog.
Mrs Pauline Rogers - Hon. Treasurer
Pauline lives in Mill Hill, North London with her husband, Malcolm. Pauline is a Judge of Persians and has bred Torties, Blacks and Reds, Bi-Colours, Colourpoints and Silver Tabbies under her "Picwick" prefix. She still works part-time for a showbiz agency, and spends as much time as possible with her grand-children.
Mrs Janet Alford - Committee Member and Vice-Chairman
Janet lives near Okehampton, Devon with her husband, Brian. She breeds Chinchillas and Goldens under her "Maplegrove" prefix, and is also a very well-known breeder of Great Danes and Bloodhounds under her "Maplemead" prefix. Janet is a member of Kennel Club, and has also had the honour of judging Danes at Crufts. She is now also breeding and showing Bloodhounds with great success. Janet's other interest is gardening - and she makes great cakes!
Mrs Gill Clark - Committee Member
Gill lives in Corsham, Wiltshire and has been involved in the Cat Fancy since the 1970s, breeding first Devon Rex, and then Exotic SHs with great success under the "Suzerain" prefix held with her late husband, Mike. After Mike died in 2007, Gill decided to give up breeding, but still atttends shows with her Exotics, now shown as neuters. Her Tortie Smoke, "Flame" was Overall Best In Show Exhibit at the Society's 2009 show.
Mrs Sue Kirk - Committee Member and Show Manager
Sue ives in Wickford, Essex and is the longest-standing member of the Committee, having been a member since the early 1970s. Sue has pet cats, but no longer breeds. However, together with her ex-husband, Barry, Sue bred two very famous Grand Champions, Labaule Silver Louis and his litter sister, Louise. Louise was considered to be the most beautiful female Chinchilla on the show bench in her day. Sue has managed many shows, and is currently Show Manager for the Society.
Miss Carole Pearson - Committee Member
Carole lives in Bracknell, Berkshire and has retired from HMRC. Carole is currently a Probationer Judge of Persian Persians and Exotic Shorthairs. Her greatest interest lies in Silver Tabby Persians, which she has shown with success. Carole is now breeding Cameos, Pewters and Exotics.
Mrs Caroline Turner-Russell - Committee Member
Caroline lives in Bream, near Lydney in the Forest of Dean, with her husband, Peter, and assorted cats - Burmese, Asians, Exotics and Persians. Her prefix is Wellbrand. Caroline is now breeding both Silvers and Goldens with enthusiasm.
Mrs Julie Wilkinson - Committee Member
Julie lives in Newbury, Berkshire but commutes to London every day where she works restoring antique pens. She breeds Smokes and Cameos under her "Danmoso" prefix, and is also currently a Judge of Persians and Exotics.
